Greetings to Rediscovery Friends:

Rediscovery is alive and well and ongoing programs bring us into contact with folks from around the globe.  The summer centre, Soaring Spirits Camp and Lodge in beautiful Kitwanga (Gitwangak) at the foot of the Seven Sisters Mountain Range, has grown.  The lovely kitchen and dining house is surrounded with flowers, greenery and a pond complete with ducks!  The vegetable and fruit garden tended to by Phat & Thom is amazing (even award-winning!) and provides most of the food for the summer.   In addition to programs there is a growing list of locals and visitors who gather from time to time for fine dining and fellowship over the summer.

We welcome Deanna Cuthbert of Victoria as our enthusiastic Administrator.   Her care and dream of keeping the Rediscovery Training as our most important focus promises to keep bringing future leaders and new camps into the fold.

Thank you so much to the RIF Board members, past and present, who give of their time and share their ideas about the life of Rediscovery and projects we might undertake.  The Vancouver Foundation has been and continues to be a supporter of RIF.

We look forward to hearing about Rediscovery in the communities and to share your stories.  Invite us to your celebrations – reunions are so much fun!

Much respect and with hope & prayers for the future,

Doreen Angus.

Wii Hamiya ~ Big Thank You to all who attended the Rediscovery Reunion 2013.  It was a great retreat, revisiting memories, seeing old friends and making some new ones too.  It was much appreciated as every one pulled together to share in activities and great food from Thom and Pat’s garden (thank you Thom and Pat!).

To Rediscovery People

So many articles are started with “How time flies!” and so does this one.Greetings to our friends and neighbours from near and far.Rediscovery is alive and well although people and even our office is moving around. The summer centre in physical terms will be at Soaring Spirits Camp and Lodge in beautiful Kitwanga (Gitwangak) at the foot of the Seven Sisters Mountain Range. The mountains have a brother now since Thom Henley has taken up summer residence there. He tells a great story about seeking then finding the Soaring Spirits site.Thom is busy with summer programs.

We have said farewell to Ben Berland who took care of administrative duties for RIF for a couple of years. Ben’s life became very busy with work plus studies then he became a father! We wish him well as he journeys on. Thank you for keeping rediscovery in your heart and soul, keep on passing it on.

We welcome Melanie Angus who has been a participant and rediscovery partner/ advocate in Kispiox for all the years since we started camp here. The RIF administrative business will be conducted from Kispiox now. Dream big, Melanie!

Thank you so much to the RIF Board members, past and present, who give of their time and share their ideas about the life of Rediscovery and projects we might undertake.Vancouver Foundation has been and continues to be a supporter of RIF.

We look forward to hearing about Rediscovery in the communities, share your stories. Better yet, come to the reunion in August – 29th-30th-31st.
